NGI – Norwegian Geotechnical Institute
NGI is an independent international centre for research and consultancy in engineering-related geosciences, integrating geotechnical, geological and geophysical expertise.
We find sustainable solutions for building infrastructure on land and at sea, and within environmental technology, contaminated soil and natural hazards – such as landslides and avalanches. Our research provides knowledge required to solve some of the most important challenges facing the world related to climate, environment, energy and natural hazards.
Meet Our Team
Dr. Jean-Sébastien L'Heureux
Jean-Sébastien works as a Department Manager, Project Manager and Technical Expert at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute. He has broad expertise from applied research, consultancy and academic professional expriences. His main research interests are physical modelling in the field, soil characterisation and hazard and risk assessment of landslides, intergration of geophysical and geotechnical methods, difficult soils (quick clay, unsaturated soils and permafrost).
Dr Thi Minh Hue Le
Le works as a Researcher, Geotechnical Consultant and Project Manager at the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute, Norway. Le has strong international and mobile background and experiences, having studied and worked in Australia, United Kingdom and Norway. Le’s main research interests are physical modelling, risk and reliability assemssment in geotechnical engineering, impacts of climate change on geotechnical structures, difficult soils (unsaturated soils, permafrost, soft quick clay…etc) and foundation for offshore wind turbines.
